Privacy Policy for klinks Chrome Extension
The klinks Chrome Extension helps you use custom "klinks" (short names for web addresses). This policy explains what information we handle and how.
How We Handle Your Information:
The klinks system has two parts: the Chrome Extension and our website that manages your klinks.
1. The Chrome Extension (on Your Computer):
- No personal data: The extension itself doesn't store your klink names or URLs, and it doesn't collect any of your browsing data. It simply performs URL rewriting and redirection based on your klink configurations managed via our backend.
2. Our Klinks Website (k.jerejaga.com - Our Backend):
- Managing your klinks: When you use our website to create, change, or delete your klinks (like "foo" linking to "example.com"), this information is sent to and stored on our secure backend servers. This lets you manage your klinks.
- Tracking klink usage: When you use a klink (e.g., "k/foo") through the extension, our backend records that the klink was used, the time it was used, and a general identifier for the user. We use this to count how many times each klink is clicked and to understand how the service is used.
- Data is secure: All information sent to and from our backend is encrypted for your privacy and security.
Who We Share Data With:
We don't share any of your klink data or usage information with any other companies or outside parties. All your data stays with us and is only used to make the klinks service work and improve it.
